Grade 1 (Age 7)

Grade 1 marks the transition into more structured classical training.

Training includes:

  • Vaganova Classical Ballet fundamentals

  • RAD Graded syllabus preparation and examination readiness

  • Strength, flexibility, and posture development

  • Introduction to PBT (Progressing Ballet Technique) concepts

Students begin developing discipline, focus, and technical awareness essential for future advancement.

Our Grade 1 Ballet curriculum is designed for young dancers who are ready to move into more structured classical training. At Jiayin MasterClass, students build on their early ballet foundations through a carefully guided program that develops posture, coordination, musicality, alignment, and confidence in performance.

At this level, students begin to deepen their understanding of ballet technique through structured classwork that supports balance, rhythm, travelling steps, jumps, and expressive movement quality. Grade 1 is an important stage in helping young dancers grow in discipline, focus, and artistic awareness, while continuing to enjoy the beauty and joy of dance.

We approach Grade 1 with both care and precision, recognising that strong foundations are essential for long-term progress. Our teaching supports each student’s individual development while preparing them for the next stages of graded ballet training in a nurturing and professionally guided environment.
